Passionated with the natural environment, experienced diver, emergency first aid certified, and top graduate of the navy seals team of Cyprus in 2010.


Periklis has reveived his BSc from the University of Brighton; his thesis involved environmental assessment of heavy metals by applying molecular tools on selected tissues of European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax). In 2014 he has been granted a scholarship and entered a 2 year distanced postgraduate MSc program on Sustainable Aquaculture at the University of St Andrews.


Since 2011 Periklis has been of great assistance to MER researchers both at the field and the lab. His main roles include among others: assisting the field team with sample collections, shoot counts, and underwater photography and the lab team with macrofauna and macroalgae sorting, phenological analysis of P. oceanica and others. Following his graduation in 2014, he has been working at MER on a full-time basis leading pelagic fisheries data collection/reporting and being a key team member both at the field, lab, report writing and proposal preparation.
