Degree (Ptychio) in Marine Sciences, Department of Marine Sciences, School of the Environment, University of Aegean, Greece (2003-2009).

MSc Master in Oceanography, School of Ocean and Earth Science, University of Southampton, UK.

Born at a coastal area, Foteini was fascinated with the biodiversity and physical processes of the sea. She started her education in Marine Sciences at the University of Aegean, Greece, followed by an MSc in Oceanography at the University of Southampton, UK, where the National Oceanography Centre is situated.

During her studies, she examined marine ecosystems through various field trips. She completed her MSc on the seagrass Zostera marina, for which she created a photosynthetic model to shed more light in the development mechanisms of this species.

At MER Lab, Foteini emphasized on the sorting of macrofauna and macroalgae species, on Posidonia oceanica phenological analysis and on chemical analyses of the sediment and seawater. She worked with us from 2011 up to 2014. She is recruited on a project basis when needed to provide services related to her expertise.
