May 7, 2026Workshop update: The May 2026 workshop dates listed below have passed. RESPOSCY’s July field report documents 132 divers trained as Posidonia Gardeners, with 36 participating in transplantation work at nine trial stations. Read the training and restoration follow-up.
Five cities, one mission: restoring Cyprus’ underwater meadows.
Marine & Environmental Research (MER) Lab Ltd invites experienced divers across Cyprus to join the RESPOSCY – REStoring POSidonia oceanica meadows of CYprus training workshops and become Posidonia Gardeners.
Taking place in Larnaca, Famagusta, Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos, the workshops will introduce divers to the ecological importance of Posidonia oceanica and prepare them to support upcoming restoration and transplantation activities.
This training is required for divers wishing to participate in future Posidonia transplantation dives.
Workshop schedule and registration:
Participants should be residents of Cyprus, hold an Advanced Diver certificate or higher, have diving experience and their own equipment, and be willing to attend training led by RESPOSCY scientists. Tanks and boats will be provided, and priority will be given to members of diving associations and diving centres.
