A new research paper of MER produced in the context of the iSea citizen-science project “Is it alien to you…. Share it!!!” in collaboration with the Ente Fauna Marina Mediterranea and UC Santa Cruz has been published in the “Journal of Applied Ichthyology”. The article demonstrates the westernmost record of Lagocephalus guentheri Miranda Ribeiro, 1915 in the Mediterranean Sea and the first confirmed record of the species in Greece. The improvement of taxonomic knowledge through the utilization of both morphological and molecular identification tools is highlighted.
