Α monitoring of Biological Quality Elements in Cyprus from natural lakes and coastal areas was implemented in collaboration with the Water Development Department (WDD, Republic of Cyprus) during the 1st and 2nd wet season (Jan. 2017 – June 2017, Jan. 2018 – June 2018). Several samplings and analysis of zooplankton communities were completed in collaboration with Dr George Kehayias (University of Patras, Greece). More information will be collected this year by the current contract (in-situ physichochemical parameters, zooplankton parameters). The results of the analyses from WDD, and several laboratories analyses (for biological and chemical parameters) will be used for the evaluation the water quality status, according to the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC.
